RECORD CLUB

Do you remember the first record you ever bought? Have a favourite album? Believe that music sounds better on vinyl? Well so do we!

If you enjoy sharing and talking about the music that means the most to you with other music fans, why not come along to one of our record clubs. Our listening clubs are based in a number of libraries and community venues across Norfolk. The sessions are a friendly and inclusive opportunity for people to meet and listen to a classic album on vinyl before discussing the record together.

Most meetings take place once a month and sessions are facilitated by a member of our team. Some notes about the album are provided at the start of the session and, after a short introduction we’ll drop the needle onto track one and savor the first side of the record. At the end of side one we take a few minutes to share any initial reactions before turning the record over. When the album finishes, we encourage everyone to discuss the album together if they’d like to, whilst having a listen to any other relevant songs along the way.

Come along to our ‘Bring Your Own’ sessions, where you can bring along your favourite vinyl records to share with fellow music fans.

This month’s theme is ‘Cover Versions’ particularly covers you consider better than the original, and those obscure versions…

We’ll do our best to get through as many of everyone’s requests as possible, and if you would like to say a few words about your choices on the night that would be great. If you’d prefer to just sit back and enjoy hearing some excellent music, that’s fine too!

Tip: it’s a good idea to bring a selection of records along in case you can’t make up your mind about what you’d like to play.
