RECORD CLUB

Do you remember the first record you ever bought? Have a favourite album? Believe that music sounds better on vinyl? Well so do we!

If you enjoy sharing and talking about the music that means the most to you with other music fans, why not come along to one of our events. Our record listening clubs are based in a number of libraries and community venues across Norfolk. The sessions are a friendly and inclusive opportunity for people to meet and listen to a classic album on vinyl before discussing the record together.

Most meetings take place once a month and sessions are facilitated by a member of our team. Some contextualizing notes about the album are provided at the start of the session and, after a short introduction we’ll drop the needle onto track one and savor the first side of the record. At the end of side one we take a few minutes to share any initial reactions before turning the record over. When the album finishes, we encourage people to grab a tea or a coffee before we discuss the album together whilst having a listen to any other relevant songs along the way.

“BYO” Vinyl Sessions

We host a ‘Bring Your Own’ Record Club session quarterly, where you can bring along your own favourite records that you’d like to share with the rest of the group. These could be singles (‘A’ or ‘B’ sides, 7” or 12”) or album tracks from any genre or era. All we ask is that the tracks mean something to you – perhaps they remind you of an important time in your life, or maybe there is something unique and interesting about the artist or song that you would like to tell the rest of us about. Maybe you’re an avid collector who like to share one or two of your recent discoveries, or maybe you’d like to bring along the first record you ever bought, the last and the one that means everything to you
