RECORD CLUB
Do you remember the first record you ever bought? Have a favourite album? Believe that music sounds better on vinyl? Well so do we!
If you enjoy sharing and talking about the music that means the most to you with other music fans, why not come along to one of our record clubs. Our listening clubs are based in a number of libraries and community venues across Norfolk. The sessions are a friendly and inclusive opportunity for people to meet and listen to a classic album on vinyl before discussing the record together.
Most meetings take place once a month and sessions are facilitated by a member of our team. Some notes about the album are provided at the start of the session and, after a short introduction we’ll drop the needle onto track one and savor the first side of the record. At the end of side one we take a few minutes to share any initial reactions before turning the record over. When the album finishes, we encourage everyone to discuss the album together if they’d like to, whilst having a listen to any other relevant songs along the way.

Monday 15 June, 7-9pm – BYO Vinyl Session
We’re returning to The Artichoke for our ‘Bring Your Own’ sessions this month, where you can bring along your favourite vinyl platters to share with fellow music fans.
This month’s theme is ‘Greatest Misses!’ We’d like to put the record(s) straight and celebrate those singles or albums that nearly hit the charts, records that were cruelly kept from the No. 1 spot (yes Joe Dolce – we’re talking about you!) or albums or singles that you just think really deserved to be a hit and that deserve to be heard!
We’ll do our best to get through as many of everyone’s requests as possible, and if you would like to say a few words about your choices on the night that would be great. If you’d prefer to just sit back and enjoy hearing some excellent music, that’s fine too!
Tip: it’s a good idea to bring a selection of records along in case you can’t make up your mind about what you’d like to play.
