A Short History of Black Anna and The Jolly Butchers

Daughter of migrants and friend of the hard done by Black Anna was a huge character and part of what makes Norwich a fine city. Join The Rotter’s Club and Reel Connections as we take a trip back in time to her pub, the Jolly Butchers and meet the queen of the jazz scene.

With stories gathered from newspaper film archives and first hand accounts on the anniversary year of her passing, we aim to give you the Jolly Butchers experience complete with songs, drinks and good times. Join us at the Mad Cat Pub for a knees up in honour of one of Norwich’s more interesting citizens.
