RECORD CLUB
Do you remember the first record you ever bought? Have a favourite album? Believe that music sounds better on vinyl? Well so do we!
If you enjoy sharing and talking about the music that means the most to you with other music fans, why not come along to one of our listening clubs. Each month we choose and listen to a classic album (played in full, on vinyl), before discussing the record together.
Meetings are facilitated by a member of our team, and after a short introduction we’ll drop the needle onto track one and savor the first side of the record. At the end of side one we can take a few minutes to share any initial reactions before turning the record over. When the album finishes, we’ll encourage people to grab a tea or a coffee before we reconvene to discuss the merits of the album whilst having a listen to any other relevant songs along the way.
Music is something that is close to all our hearts, and we positively encourage lively debate at our meetings, whilst keeping meetings relaxed, friendly and welcoming for everyone. Feel free to turn up on the day or drop us a line to find out more at info@reelconnections.co.uk or find details of our upcoming sessions below.
Volunteer with Record Club!
If you enjoy great music, meeting people and supporting your local community then why not volunteer to help facilitate our Record Clubs. Volunteer duties include welcoming people to the sessions and supporting the discussion with materials provided. Expenses will be reimbursed and volunteers will be given full training ahead of the sessions. Contact us at info@reelconnections.co.uk to find out more.

Festive ‘BYO’ Vinyl Session
We’ll be hosting a special ‘Bring Your Own’ Record Club at the American Library, open to all our Record Club attendees. Feel free to bring along a selection of your own favourite tracks that you’d like to share with the rest of the group. These could be album tracks or 45’s that you love, a recent discovery, or a special artist or song that you’d like to tell us about. The choice is yours, the only proviso being that records need to be on vinyl.
We’ll do our best to play as many of everyone’s selections as possible, but as time is limited, it would be helpful that tracks are limited to under 5 minutes long. And of course, if you’d just like to come along and enjoy a selection of top-quality tunes, that’s absolutely fine too!
Wednesday 17 December, 5pm-7pm in the American Library at Norfolk and Norwich Millennium Library.
